All flights to Istanbul at the Sabiha Gokcen airport were canceled by Turkish Pegasus Airlines on February 5, the company’s press service reports on the official Internet portal.
The flights were canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions. “All flights to Istanbul at Sabiha Gokcen Airport on February 5 have been cancelled”says the message.
The press service provides a list of 207 canceled flights for February 5-7. It is noted that depending on weather conditions and decisions of the competent authorities, the number of canceled flights may increase.
Recall, the Turkish Airlines press service announced the cancellation of 170 flights to Istanbul. It was previously reported that Istanbul was hit by heavy snowfall and hurricane-force winds of up to 100 km/h.
Due to the blizzard, public transport has come to a standstill and traffic accidents have become more frequent. More than 11 thousand people and special teams took part in eliminating the consequences of bad weather.
