Dozens of religious leaders from major faiths and society representatives are meeting in Lisbon starting Tuesday at the 1st KAICIID Global Forum, seeking solutions to the current scenario of “wars, conflicts and deep social divisions.”
“At a particularly difficult time, when humanity faces enormous challenges, when war, conflict and deep social divisions create space for fear, mistrust and speech of hatred and intolerance, this Global Forum for Dialogue takes on even greater significance by focusing on the power of intercultural interaction. and interreligious dialogue as the key to defining common grounds for the protection of dignity and human rights as pillars of a peaceful society,” the organization said in a statement.
The conference, running from Tuesday to Thursday, is themed “Dialogue as a Transformative Force: Building Alliances for Peace in a Rapidly Changing World,” organized by the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), an intergovernmental organization. an organization whose purpose is to promote dialogue between religions and cultures.
