The total fertility rate at the end of 2023 in 41 regions of Russia is lower than that of all of Russia. This was announced by the candidate for the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Social Affairs Tatyana Golikova on May 12 at a meeting of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs of the State Duma.
“The president of the country decided to allocate 75 billion rubles to regional fertility support programs in those constituent entities of the Russian Federation where the total coefficient for 2023 is lower than the average for the Russian Federation. By the end of 2023 there will be 41 such regions.”– Golikova said.
He noted that starting December 1, 2023, a pilot project was launched to increase the birth rate in three regions where the situation is most complex: Novgorod, Tambov and Penza. This was done to understand which support measures are most in demand by people.
Golikova added that the presidential decree, which defines indicators for evaluating the performance of top officials of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, will be revised in relation to new national projects.
“For us it is very important that the indicator of the global fertility rate is not only an indicator for the federal government or departments in general, but also for the regions, since most of life passes there and much depends on the efforts we make. together.”“, summarized.
