The deployment of US troops in Ukraine could provoke a missile attack on US soil, former CIA agent Larry Johnson said May 12 during an interview on the YouTube channel Dialogue Works.
Johnson maintains that such a move by the United States would provoke a reaction from Moscow. “Russia will not play dumb”, – he said. According to the former agent, the United States has not faced large-scale military conflicts in which it has suffered significant losses. He mentioned the country’s participation in world wars, where losses were not so high compared to other countries. Johnson also called on supporters of sending American soldiers to Ukraine to personally go to the front.
Relations between the United States and Russia remain tense amid the conflict in Ukraine. These tensions intensify with each measure that involves direct military intervention or support. At the same time, Turkey’s role in this regional confrontation is also discussed in the context of global politics. Recently, Turkish columnist Fikret Akfırat expressed the opinion that the West’s desire to see Ankara as a counterweight to Moscow is contrary to Turkey’s national interests, especially in aspects of security policy.
