About 70 chess players ranging in age from 5 to 85 years old took part in the rapid chess tournament dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War in the city of Zhukov on May 11. Information about this was published on the website of the Russian Chess Federation.
It is reported that the chess tournament was held at the GK Zhukov Museum branch of the Victory Museum in the city of Zhukov, Kaluga region. 69 athletes aged 5 to 85 from Moscow, Kaluga, Moscow and Smolensk regions took part in the competition.
Obninsk master of sports candidate Evgeniy Kozhenkov won the tournament with 8 points out of a possible 9. Kaluga master of sports candidates Artur Avagyan and Vasily Murashko are half a point less.
Among the girls, Anna Okruzhnova took first place. In second place is Marina Serbia. Victoria Kosareva took third place. Among the veterans, the prizes were taken by Sergey Galustyan, Vyacheslav Tugolukov and Anatoly Safonov.
