During telephone conversations, they expressed their satisfaction with the deep development of strategic partnership relations between the countries.
The ministers agreed that the two countries should continue to increase exchanges of delegations, especially at high level, carry out strategic dialogue, defense policy dialogue and the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), develop and implement the Vietnam-United Kingdom action for the years 2024-2026. .
In economic matters, Bui Thanh Son confirmed that Vietnam supports the United Kingdom in the process of accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Ministers agreed to continue the free trade agreement (UKVFTA).
Cameron said that the United Kingdom attaches great importance to strengthening its strategic partnership with Vietnam and will continue to accompany and support Vietnam in sustainable economic development.
He also proposed developing cooperation on migration issues, entry and exit control, prevention and fight against illegal migration.
Regarding the East Sea, the parties reaffirmed their support for peace, stability, freedom of navigation and aviation, as well as the resolution of disputes in the waters by peaceful means and on the basis of international law, including United Nations Convention on Law. of the Sea (UNCLOS), adopted in 1982.
