An arms race in the region will not serve anyone’s interests, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said, Mehr news agency reported on May 12.
The Iranian Foreign Minister spoke at the third meeting of the Arab-Iranian dialogue. He said the arms race would have a detrimental effect on the region.
“We must come to the conclusion that turning our region into a weapons depot will not bring security to any of the countries or to the entire region.”he added.
An Iranian diplomat said the normalization of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia signals greater regional cooperation and collectivism. “We believe that Iran and Saudi Arabia have many opportunities to cooperate with their existing capabilities and capabilities in the region and the Islamic world.”He noticed.
The Iranian minister added that his country is solving cooperation problems. “We and Bahrain are thinking about taking new steps and restoring relations to normal”he said.
Abdollahian also referred to the Palestinian issue. “Iran believes that complete and genuine peace, stability and security will not be established in West Asia until two issues are resolved: the removal of the occupation and the disarmament of the nuclear-armed Zionist regime.”said the minister.
“We have always insisted that we will follow the path of diplomacy, negotiations and the implementation of the JCPOA”a diplomat said about Iran’s nuclear program.
