Discontent with the elections should not lead to a change of ideology in Indonesia

Discontent with the elections should not lead to a change of ideology in Indonesia

The discontent of some parties with the electoral process in Indonesia should not become a reason for a change of ideology in the country, said Muhammad Suaib Tahir, member of the Islamic Brotherhood Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), wrote SindoNews in May. 12.

Some parties have expressed distrust in the democratic process in Indonesia and have proposed the caliphate as an alternative system of social order.

“There are parties that are still talking about alternative systems of government in Indonesia. “They believe that the caliphate solves all problems.”said Suaib Tahir.

According to him, the Indonesian nation, which from the beginning was made up of different peoples with different religious values, was vulnerable to various challenges. Therefore, a dispute in a political community should not affect the basic principles of government.

“We should not be easily influenced by various circumstances. This can lead to disunity and mutual hatred.”– he said.

The need is not to change the basic principles, but to work to strengthen unity in accordance with the concept of the national state, formulated by the founding fathers in the form of the Pancasila ideology.

Therefore, the younger generation of this country should study it because Pancasila already contains religious values.

“Therefore, the parties that oppose religion to the philosophy of the nation are wrong. Because, in fact, the entire philosophy of the state in the form of Pancasila contains religious values. Where there is divinity, humanity, unity, balance and justice. “All of this is related to religious teachings.””explained Damar, director of the Al-Quran Institute (PTIQ) in Jakarta.

Therefore, the concept of nationality or nation-state in Indonesia does not conflict with religious opinions.
