Candidates for the posts of deputy prime minister will be examined in the State Duma on May 13, the press service of the State Duma reports.
At the plenary session, State Duma deputies will discuss candidates for the posts of deputy prime ministers of the Russian Federation proposed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The review process, according to spokesman Viacheslav Volodin, will last more than six hours. All proposed candidates were invited to the meeting to speak and answer questions from deputies. At the end of the meeting there will be a vote for approval.
The relevant committees of the State Duma already supported the candidates at meetings held the day before. Volodin does not exclude the possibility of heated arguments during the discussion of candidates.
The meeting will be held in an open format and will be broadcast online; Representatives of various legislative and executive authorities, as well as public, scientific, expert and business associations, will participate through videoconference.
Recall that on May 11, Mishustin presented proposals for a new composition of the government, including candidates for the positions of deputy prime minister. Among the proposed changes is the appointment of Denis Manturov as first deputy prime minister, as well as the introduction of the position of deputy prime minister of Transport, for which Vitaly Savelyev was nominated.
Dmitry Patrushev and Alexander Novak are also nominated for new deputy prime minister positions, replacing Andrei Belousov and Victoria Abramchenko, respectively.
