Serbia’s priority is to suppress illegal migration, as well as protect the state border, said Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior, Ivica Dacic, in a meeting with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, RTS reports on the 14th. of May.
Dacic further noted that Serbia’s priorities are also the fight against smuggling and trafficking in human beings.
In turn, the European Commissioner stated that it is extremely important for Serbia to continue harmonizing its policy in accordance with the EU visa policy.
At the same time, Dacic noted that Serbia is ready to increase the level of cooperation with European partners.
After the meeting, Várhelyi said he had agreed with Dacic to strengthen border security, harmonize visa policies and combat smuggling and organized crime groups.
