The review of the entrance to the Rostov-on-Don Central Market will be completed in the second quarter of 2023, the city’s trade department reported on February 6.
The door has already been replaced. Now they are made of brick, with a wrought iron fence. The style of the gate is combined with the fence of the cathedral, located next to the market. Also at the entrance, two rooms were set up for staff. Work will now be done to replace the pavilion located on the Cathedral Lane alignment.
It should be noted that the head of the Rostov-on-Don administration, Alexei Logvinenko, in the summer of 2021 drew attention to the inappropriate appearance of the entrance to the Central Market, as well as the trade in underwear near the gate. He pointed out that this is unacceptable next to the Cathedral, which is an object of cultural heritage. Logvinenko criticized the general director of the market, Yuri Mukovoz, who, in turn, promised to rectify the situation.
