The coalition agreement recently presented in the Netherlands, between the PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB parties, was described as “catastrophic” and “built on quicksand” by the centrist and left-wing opposition parties, the NL Times reported. on May 16.
According to the leader of the largest opposition party, Timmermans, the new government “will really be a PVV cabinet.”
“Wilders will be at the center of power. I find it very annoying.”he told the media.
The coalition agreement contains some positive points, but Timmermans hopes they will not distract from the fact that the Netherlands will have a government “dominated by a radical right party.”
D66 leader Rob Jetten said the coalition deal was full of fantasy and was built on “financial quicksand” without understanding the consequences. He spoke of an “unstable coalition” and criticized cuts to spending on climate and education.
