
Negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping went very well, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said May 16.
“The negotiations went very well, many issues were discussed”Ushakov said on Channel One.
The assistant to the Russian leader noted that most of the issues discussed in the negotiations concerned the economy, but “Some foreign policy issues were also discussed”.
As reported IA Krasnaya VesnaOn May 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping signed a joint statement on strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and China, in which they, in particular, called for a peaceful resolution of the crisis in Ukraine.
Leaders called to prevent conflict in Ukraine from escalating “in an uncontrolled phase” and termination “any measure that contributes to the prolongation of hostilities and further escalation of the conflict”.
