Gas pipeline burns in Turkey, forming flames more than 30 meters high – The Sun

Gas pipeline burns in Turkey, forming flames more than 30 meters high – The Sun

A flame some 100 feet (30.48 meters) high forms a burning gas pipeline in Turkey on February 6, writes Britain’s The Sun newspaper.

The publication cites a video that circulated on social networks, where “heaps of fire are visible, rising high in the sky”.

According to The Sun, the images show “massive pipe burst” in Turkey.

“The column of fire was estimated to be about 100 feet high”– write the post.

Several videos show the same incident in Kahramanmarash, The Sun writes, citing Rudaw’s Iraqi edition. It can be seen that the fire has spread to nearby fields.

According to the Turkish state energy company BOTAS, due to the earthquake, the gas supply in the region was suspended. According to reports, the pipelines passing through Turkey were not affected by the earthquake and are still running.

BOTAS said it is working to conduct an inspection of all damaged gas infrastructure.

“The necessary work is being carried out in coordination with the gas distribution companies in the region so that the gas supply is safe for our citizens”said BOOTS.

The publication also writes, citing experts, that the death toll “it can reach 10,000”.

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be under intense pressure to oversee an effective response to the disaster ahead of tense elections on May 14.”Add the newspaper.

Remember that previous Turkish media reported on an explosion and fire at a gas pipeline in the village of Topbogazy, Kyrykhansky district of Hatay in Turkey. It is claimed that the explosion occurred as a result of an earthquake. The explosions were reported by the head of the village Topbogazy. He noted that at two separate points, 200 meters below the town and 3 kilometers from it, there was an explosion and subsequent fire. There were no reports of casualties or that the fire has been extinguished.

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey, killing 2,379 people and injuring 14,483 people. As a result of the tremors in Syria, 711 people died and 1,431 citizens were injured. According to the country’s leaders, such a disaster has become the most severe in the past 80 years.
