According to a report released by the regulator this Monday, the average weekly fuel price calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) is down 3% for gasoline and 5% for diesel this week.
Thus, for the “week of 6 to 12 February, the effective price before tax is 0.867 euro/l for straight petrol 95 and 0.961 euro/l for diesel”, given that “after tax the effective price is 1690 euro/l , for regular petrol 95 and 1620 euro/l for regular diesel fuel”.
According to the ERSE Weekly Supervisory Report on Public Selling Prices, “the effective price recorded an update from last week of -3.0% for gasoline and -5.0% for diesel.”
This decline was facilitated, as ERSE highlights, by “a weekly change in world prices for straight-through gasoline 95 by -5.4% and for clean diesel fuel by -10.7%”, “updating the additional costs associated with the inclusion of biofuels in gasoline 95”. direct by +15.3% and direct diesel by +16.7%” and “updating the ISP value for straight gasoline 95 by -5.0% and maintaining relatively straight diesel”.
On the other hand, “compared to the previous week, it was confirmed that the average public selling price (PVP) announced on the portals and published in Balcão Único da Energia was 4.9 cents/l higher than the effective price. this week for plain gasoline 95 and 1.8 cents/liter higher for plain diesel.”
Thus, “In percentage terms, straight gasoline 95 was listed on porticos at 2.7% above the effective price, and regular diesel was listed at 1.0% above the effective price,” ERSE said in a statement.
The effective price is the average weekly price determined by ERSE, which is the result of the sum of several factors: “fuel prices in the underlying international markets and related shipping, primary logistics, including in this part the strategic and security reserves of the National Petroleum System, additional costs from including biofuels and a retail component plus applicable taxes.”
However, with respect to the previous week, “in relation to discounted prices published by DGEG [Direção-Geral de Energia e Geologia]plain gasoline 95 showed a deviation of 0.0% compared to the effective price and plain diesel -3.3%.
Thus, “In absolute terms, these estimates for 95 straight gasoline are -0.1 cents/L and for straight diesel are -5.4 cents/L, which are below the corresponding effective prices.”
According to press reports, this week the price of diesel fuel will fall by eight cents per liter, and gasoline – by four cents.
