Former US President Donald Trump’s trial in New York is approaching jury deliberations, with defendants refraining from testifying about alleged bribes to silence a sex scandal in the 2016 election campaign.
Todd Blanche, Trump’s lawyer, told a judge today that the defense will no longer call witnesses after calling a former federal prosecutor who questioned the credibility of the prosecution’s star witness Michael Cohen, a former associate of the businessman who was allegedly the main culprit of bribes.
The jury has been sent home until closing arguments are expected on the 28th, but lawyers are still discussing how the judge will instruct the jury about deliberations.
