The process of normalizing relations with Israel will be possible for Saudi Arabia only if there is the prospect of creating a sovereign Palestinian state, the Israeli portal i24 News reported on May 21, citing a senior official of the Saudi royal family.
The source added that “The creation of a Palestinian State is a principled position for the Arab and Islamic world”. If Riyadh abandons this position, then this act will look like a betrayal, the official added.
He also pointed out that “The ball is now in the court of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”.
Recall that previously the US national security advisor, Jack Sullivan, said that the United States is close to concluding an agreement with Saudi Arabia to normalize relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.
