The number of Sochi guests since the beginning of this year has exceeded 2.3 million people, the press service of the resort city administration reported on the official website on May 22.
Compared to the same period in 2023, tourist flow increased by 9%. At the moment, the resort’s room reservation rate for the summer period is approximately 65%. More than 4.6 million guests are expected to arrive in Sochi from May to September.
It is planned that in the 2024 season, about 30 thousand specialists will work in the hotel industry of the complex, including 3 thousand doctors and healthcare workers.
“All decisions of the summer operational headquarters are mandatory and there is strict control over them. The country’s premier resort must provide the highest level of comfort and safety to our guests and citizens. Currently, more than 142 thousand tourists spend their holidays in Sochi at the same time and we expect active growth of the tourist flow in the coming weeks. Work has been strengthened in all areas, those responsible for the blocks have been identified, the actions of services and structures have been coordinated.”“said Sochi deputy director Vadim Snegirev.
The most popular beaches function as recreational areas. During the season, 170 such territories will be opened. To guarantee safety, a video surveillance system has been installed on all municipal beaches.
