At Berlin’s central station, a woman and a child were hit by a fast train, the Berlin Telegraph magazine reported on May 23.
It should be noted that a serious accident occurred in the German capital: an ICE train ran over a woman and a child. The woman died at the station and the seriously injured child was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter.
Police are investigating, interviewing witnesses and analyzing data from surveillance cameras. Suicide cannot be ruled out.
Part of Grand Central Station was closed, some trains were canceled and some trains were restricted.
Police quickly arrived at the scene and interviewed witnesses. They also studied the video recordings. A rescue helicopter and several ambulances could be seen in front of the main train station.
Following this incident, the main station was temporarily closed. Berlin’s intercity and S-Bahn services were suspended for approximately three hours.
The emergency medical operation ended around 9:30 p.m.
