Serbia will kindly remind that Russia and China voted against the resolution on the Srebrenica events at the UN General Assembly (GA), Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters on May 23.
Vučić spoke after a meeting of the UN General Assembly, where the resolution on the “genocide in Srebrenica” was voted on.
“I would like to thank China and the Russian Federation, as well as the Emirates. Serbia will never forget this, many thanks to our Hungarian brothers. And to the Slovaks, Greeks and Cypriots, for deciding abstinence.””RIA Novosti quotes Vucic.
The politician also expressed his gratitude to the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America that voted “against”.
Let us remember that yesterday the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on the call. “Srebrenica Genocide” proposed by Germany and Rwanda. 84 countries voted in favor, 19 against and 68 abstained.
In addition to the countries mentioned, the resolution was opposed by Serbia, Syria, Cuba, North Korea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Nicaragua, Nauru, Eritrea and Hungary. Those who abstained included Algeria, Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Greece, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates. Israel did not participate in the vote.
For example, the United States, Great Britain, Ukraine, France, Germany, Canada and Switzerland voted “in favor.”
