Israel will prohibit the Spanish consulate in Jerusalem from providing services to Palestinians

In a message published on his social networks, Katz has detailed that the reason for this decision is Spain’s recognition of the Palestinian State and the statements of the vice president of the Spanish Government, Yolanda Díaz.

Following the announcement by the Spanish Government, the leader of Sumar published a video on her social networks the following day in support of the recognition of the Palestinian State in which she stated “Palestine will be free from the river to the sea”, a motto of the Palestinian cause. which Israel considers anti-Semitic because they say it implies the disappearance of their State.

Spain announced on Wednesday, together with Ireland and Norway, its intention to recognize the Palestinian State, a decision that the three countries will formalize on May 28; which provoked the anger of Israel, which considered the measure “a reward for Hamas” and immediately called its ambassadors in those three countries for consultations.

In addition, he summoned the diplomatic representatives of the three countries for a “reprimand” at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Jerusalem.

Minister Katz has warned on several occasions this week that the recognition of the Palestinian state by Spain, Ireland and Norway would have “even more serious consequences.”
