Naama, the sister of Israeli soldier Amit Levy, who was taken hostage by Hamas, was seen in a video released this week by Israel. The brother says the last seven months have been “a nightmare for the family.”
In accordance with SkyNewsNaama, a 19-year-old woman, worked at an Israeli observatory that monitored activity along the Gaza Strip border and was one of five women captured by Hamas on the morning of the October 7 attack.
In the video released, some of the women appear bloodied and injured, with their hands tied behind their backs. Amit Levy says on a television program that the sound he hears in the released video gives him a “stomach ache” but adds that “many hostages can still be saved.”
According to the same source, Naama’s brother says their parents live in constant sadness and says they haven’t watched the video for weeks “because it was too difficult.”
“We are trying to remain optimistic, I believe with all my heart that she is still alive, that she can still be saved. We are optimistic about her survival,” adds Levy.
To put pressure on the Israeli government, the families released the video, but with some parts edited.
