Three missionaries from the Haiti Missions group were killed Thursday in a gang attack in that country. The victims are the director of the organization, the son of the founders and his wife aged 20, 21 and 23.
“Davy and Natalie were ambushed by a group of three trucks full of men. Davi was taken home, tied up and beaten. The group took our trucks, loaded up with everything they wanted and left,” according to a post Thursday on Facebook. . .
After this situation, a second criminal group appeared, and one of the men ended up dead. As a result, the gangs came into conflict. The couple and the director of the organization were able to make phone calls and talk about what was happening, describing how they hid while gang members shot at the windows.
Missions to Haiti tried to negotiate with the gangs and call a rescue team, but the victims were eventually shot by the criminals. “Davie, Natalie and Jude were shot dead by a gang at around 9pm this evening. We are all devastated,” the NGO said.
Haiti Missions is an Oklahoma-based missionary group operating in the Haitian capital and operating a school for 450 children, as well as two churches and an orphanage in the Bon Repos neighborhood of Port-au-Prince. The nonprofit organization was founded by Oklahoma couple David and Alicia Lloyd in 2000.
