According to the prelate, in Portugal there are 32 canonization cases going on in the Holy See, but there are three that in the process of beatification or canonization could be completed soon, such as the cases of Blessed Joana Princessa, Sister Lucia and Father Cruz.
“Some of these venerable souls have already been canonized by the people, but they lack the approval of the Holy See and the Pope to be included in the list of saints,” he added.
The meeting at the House of Saints took place as part of the visit of the Portuguese bishops Ad Limina to Rome, which ended on Friday with an audience with Pope Francis.
