The Fertagus train service, which connects Setúbal and Lisbon, will experience “outages” on Thursday due to the Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) strike, the carrier said.
In a note posted on its website, Fertagus, which operates this railway line passing through the April 25 bridge, after paying an IP subscription fee, refers to the fact that train restrictions will be registered from 00:00 to 24:00 . :00 that day.
“Since minimum services have not been defined by CES – Economic and Social Council, we cannot predict the time frame in which they can be performed,” the company says.
The carrier currently operates 14 stations covering about 54 kilometers and handles approximately 85,000 flights per day.
The Federation of Trade Unions for Transport and Communications (Fectrans) announced on 25 January that the workers of CP — Comboios de Portugal and IP will strike on 9 February.
The problem, according to unions, is the lack of response from the two companies to proposals for wage increases.
For unions, the proposals presented are “far short of” the values needed to restore workers’ purchasing power.
