Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov promised mirror measures to Western countries if they use the proceeds from frozen Russian assets in a comment posted on May 25 by journalist Pavel Zarubin on his Telegram channel.
“We have money frozen in C accounts, we have assets, we also receive income. If there is a solution, we will do the same, as a mirror, to have the answer.”Siluanov explained.
The minister noted that previously the property of other states was considered inviolable and no sanctions were applied to it. Now, he said, everything has changed and Western countries have refused to respect their own legal framework.
They have not yet decided to touch the gold and foreign exchange reserves, but they already want to use the income obtained at their discretion, explained the minister.
