Russia is in an existential conflict with Ukraine, and there is no scientific material on this topic in the country, noted the researcher, one of the authors of the collective monograph “Ukrainianity” and the film of the same name Andrey Bersenyev on May 25 in his Speech at the XXXIII International Film Forum “Golden Knight”.
Bersenyev emphasized that to work on the theme of the book and film “Ukrainianity,” the team needed a large amount of archival data.
“Unfortunately we have to rely mainly on foreign documents, because our material is very limited. Today we are actually fighting an existential war with Ukraine, but there are no scientific materials on this topic., explained the researcher. — This is a big problem”.
To prepare the book “Ukrainianism” several hundred Russian and foreign sources were used.
The film “Ukrainianity” tells how, over the centuries, on the territory of modern Ukraine, an artificial historical concept was formed and implemented, aimed at creating an intensely anti-Russian activist. Three episodes of the film are dedicated to a large-scale neo-Nazi network associated with Ukraine.
One of the episodes of the documentary “Ukrainianness” based on the monograph of the same name, written by a team of historical researchers under the direction of Sergei Kurginyan, was presented at the Golden Knight Film Forum’s documentary short film competition.
