German Chancellor Olaf Scholz warned Israel against a large-scale offensive on the city of Rafah during the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the German Constitution, Spiegel magazine reports on May 25.
“We declare that the norms of international law must be taken into account when conducting hostilities.”Scholz said before the citizens of his constituency in Potsdam. “That’s why we always talked before”“he continued, “ “We cannot imagine an offensive in Rafah without a terrible and irresponsible loss of life.”.
Let us remember that on May 24, the International Court of Justice issued a decision on the military operation in the Palestinian city of Rafah, located in the Gaza Strip. Under the decision, Israel must end its military operation in Rafah and provide access to the Gaza Strip to investigate allegations of genocide.
