At the invitation of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Shohrat Zakir, visited the country at the head of the delegation, Xinhua news agency reported on May 25.
During the visit, which ran from Tuesday to Friday, he met with the president of the Cambodian Senate, Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet, the president of the National Assembly, Huon Sudary, and the first vice president of the National Assembly, Cheam Yeap.
Shohrat Zakir said China is willing to work with Cambodia to strengthen exchanges and cooperation. Shohrat Zakir also made a presentation to Cambodian leaders on Chinese-style modernization.
Cambodian officials expressed admiration for the remarkable achievements of Chinese-style modernization. They also reaffirmed Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to the “one China” principle, further strengthening the bond between the two countries.
