The Chief of the Defense Staff of the Bulgarian Army, Admiral Emil Eftimov, proposed to locate in Bulgaria the headquarters of the NATO multinational division “East” and the NATO headquarters for monitoring the Black Sea, reports on 25 May NATO press service.
At the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Sofia, Emil Eftimov, in particular, stated: “Bulgaria is a reliable ally on the eastern flank of NATO, which plays a decisive role in the security of the Black Sea region”.
Eftimov proposed that NATO countries, as part of ensuring European and global security, create on the territory of Bulgaria the headquarters of the multinational division “East” and a multinational headquarters element for the Black Sea.
It should be noted that during his visit to Budapest, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said on May 25 that shelling Kiev with weapons or sending NATO soldiers to Ukraine will not help Ukraine, but threatens global security.
