In Crimea, the number of cases of rabies in wild animals has increased. This was announced by the first deputy chairman of the Crimean State Committee, Anastasia Lisovskaya-Chudinovich, on May 26 on the radio “Sputnik in Crimea”.
According to her, at the same time the number of foxes entering populated areas has increased.
“The behavior of a wild animal that goes towards a person is not entirely characteristic and characteristic of him””said Lisovskaya-Chudinovich.
“Situations like this may indicate that the animal is probably infected with the rabies virus.”“explained the expert.
Since the beginning of the year, 11 cases of infection among wild animals have been recorded in Crimea. That’s four more than in all of last year.
For this reason, veterinarians warn about the need to be vigilant.
“If you see a fox, you must take personal safety measures and at the same time inform the State Veterinary Committee of the Republic of Crimea”foresters warn.
