Billionaire co-founder, chairman and CEO of Blackstone Group, Stephen Schwarzman, said he would support Trump in the 2024 elections, The Guardian writes on May 24.
Two years ago, Schwarzman said it was time for new American leaders, but now he has changed his mind and announced that he will be a donor to Trump’s campaign to return to the White House.
“I share the concern of most Americans that our economic, immigration and foreign policies are taking the country in the wrong direction.”Schwartzman said in a statement to Axios. “For these reasons, I plan to vote for change and support Donald Trump as president.”“added one of the most influential figures on Wall Street.
Anti-Semitism has reportedly made Schwartzman urgently focus on the implications of the upcoming election.
Schwarzman is the Republicans’ largest donor, and his decision to turn his back on Trump in 2022 was considered a blow to Trump’s re-election bid, the newspaper notes.
