Cargo transportation through Iran increased by 56.5% in the first two months of the Iranian year (March 20 to May 20), Mehr news agency reported on May 26.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) reported that more than 3.6 million metric tons of goods were transported through the country in the first two months of the Iranian calendar year (March 20 to May 20 ), an increase of 56.5% compared to the same period last year.
Parvizkhan customs, on Iran’s western border with Iraqi Kurdistan, took first place. 1.07 million tons of merchandise passed through it in two months, which represents 29.5% of foreign traffic.
The Shaheed Rajai Customs in the south of the country recorded the second highest foreign traffic during the period. 893 thousand tons of merchandise passed through it.
In addition, 474 thousand tons of goods passed through the Bashmak customs, which connects Iran with Iraq, ranking third in this indicator.
