At the end of the year, camping and glamping areas for 300 places will appear in the Astrakhan region, the head of the region, Igor Babushkin, reported on May 26 on his Telegram channel.
The governor said that this initiative has the support of the State due to the growing popularity of this type of tourism and the active participation of businessmen.
Glamping is a form of outdoor recreation where tents are designed in the style of hotel rooms, providing comfort without harming the environment. According to Igor Babushkin, – “These places have mobility, allowing natural beauty to be preserved and location changed as necessary”.
An example of a successful project is the Polyana glamping site in the Kamyzyaksky district, which received state support. Businesswoman Evgenia Genyuk took advantage of subsidies to purchase dome tents and a preferential loan to purchase the necessary equipment, furniture and appliances. “We set our goal to preserve nature and develop tourism in the region, attracting responsible investors”noted Babushkin.
In 2023, the government of the Astrakhan region allocated 158 million rubles for the development of recreational facilities, within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”. These investments aim to support small and medium-sized businesses in the tourism sector, with the aim of making the region a leading tourist destination in Russia.
