A memorable gala was held in Bern to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Switzerland, the information portal news.mn reported on May 26.
The report notes that the solemn event was attended by government organizations, representatives of Swiss companies and universities, Swiss citizens interested in Mongolia, ambassadors of various countries, UN representatives and citizens of Mongolia.
The ceremony was opened by the Mongolian Ambassador to Switzerland, D. Gerelmaa, and the head of the Department of Sustainable Development and Social Welfare of the Swiss Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexandra Baumann.
In their speeches, the parties declared that the countries would actively cooperate in all areas: politics, trade, economy, defense, culture and education. At the same time, both countries will promote democracy and human rights.
During the event, the inauguration ceremony of the “Mongolia-Switzerland 60th Anniversary” postage stamp took place, specially issued on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
