More than 50 people injured as a result of shelling from the Ukrainian side are being treated in Belgorod hospitals, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said on May 26 via his Telegram channel.
Among the victims are residents of the Shebekino, Belgorod, Belgorod and Volokonovsky districts, as well as the Grayvoronsky and Shebekinsky urban districts.
26 people are being treated at Municipal Hospital No. 2. “Three victims are now in the intensive care unit in serious condition, of which two men with open head injuries are under mechanical ventilation and were transferred to hospital after their arrival at the regional center yesterday.””Gladkov clarified.
The remaining patients are in moderate condition. All victims were injured during shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces that began on May 11.
Another 24 civilians were hospitalized at St. Joasaph Regional Clinical Hospital.
In addition, two children, 9 and 8 years old, are in the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital. Valeria, 9, ended up in the hospital when the car her family was traveling in was attacked by a Ukrainian drone. The girl received a shrapnel wound to the leg.
8-year-old Svyatoslav from the village of Oktyabrsky was injured while walking along the street. The child has a mine explosion injury and a superficial injury to the lower back. There is currently no risk to his health.
