The joint QUAD alliance satellite was proposed by US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti on May 25 during a visit to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) headquarters, the Economic Times reports.
“It is my honor to meet ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath and his team.”the ambassador said.
He stressed that the joint program of cooperation between the United States and India on space issues remains unchanged.
ISRO said in a press release that Garcetti proposed creating a “QUAD alliance satellite.”
The Ambassador expressed his admiration for the achievements of ISRO and its contribution to space exploration.
Let us remember that QUAD is a political and economic alliance, which, in addition to India and the United States, also includes Japan and Australia. Washington is making significant efforts to strengthen the alliance and even make it military.
New Delhi does not agree with this initiative and prefers to remain in a loose alliance that does not impose any special obligations on it.
