NASA plans to conduct in-depth training for Indian astronauts, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti said on May 25, the Economic Times reports.
The Ambassador spoke at the event “United States-India. Commercial Space Conference: Unlocking Opportunities for Collaborative Space Startups in Bengaluru.
“NASA will soon begin conducting in-depth training for Indian astronauts to increase their collective contribution to the ISS.”“, emphasized the diplomat.
He stressed that the United States and India go hand in hand in the peaceful exploration of space. The ambassador noted that the startups launched at the conference can provide high-paying, high-tech jobs for Indians and Americans.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Director Somanath S confirmed that space ties between the United States and India have been greatly strengthened. He said he is excited about the opportunities this collaboration brings to the industry.
Note that on May 26, Garcetti visited ISRO headquarters and said that NASA was preparing a new program for Indian astronauts.
