The Israeli Army has confirmed the bombing of the Tal al Sultan displaced persons camp, northwest of Ráfah. The attack caused a large fire in the displaced persons camp, which had not been previously evacuated, so practically all of the deceased are civilians.
At least 50 Gazans have died this morning in a Israeli bombing of a displaced persons camp in the northwest of Ráfah, in the neighborhood of Tal al Sultanan attack confirmed by the Israeli Army, which it says targeted two senior Hamas officials.
“Another atrocious massacre was committed by Israeli forces in Rafah, which has so far claimed the lives of 50 martyrs and dozens of wounded, most of them children and women,” reported a spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Health.
For its part, the Israeli Army has confirmed the attack by its aircraft in the Tal al Sultan area, “based on precise intelligence” and supposedly directed against two senior officials of the Islamist group Hamas, the commander of its division for the West Bank, Yassin Rabia. ; and another senior commander of that same division, Khaled Nagar.
“The Hamas wing in Judea and Samaria (occupied West Bank) is responsible for the planning, financing and execution of terrorist attacks throughout Judea and Samaria and within Israel,” indicated a military statement about that attack in Tal al Sultan, a neighborhood of Rafah that Israeli forces still they had not ordered to evacuate and which welcomed hundreds of displaced people.
Images spread on Palestinian social networks show a big fire caused by aerial bombardment on the temporary tents in Tal al Sultan.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, 190 Palestinians have died in new massacres, including this one in the supposed “safe zone” of the camps west of the city of Rafah.
The Israeli attack in Rafah comes hours after Hamas launched eight rockets into central Israel, including Tel Aviv, for the first time in about four months, causing no serious damage or injuries.
