Land owners in the Rostov region, where due to chemical poisoning there were sea hares and massive pheasants, were forced to compensate for the damage. This was reported on February 7 in the press service of the regional Ministry of Nature and Ecology.
In November 2022, dozens of pheasant carcasses were found in Zernogradsky, Tselinsky, Salsky and Peschanokopsky districts. And in December, in the same areas, to which Kagalnitsky was added, there were sea hares.
The Ministry of Natural Resources of the Rostov Region has started an audit. It turned out that animals and birds were poisoned with poison, which is used to treat fields from rodents.
“The main version was the poisoning of animals due to the improper handling of landowners with agrochemicals intended to bait rodents”says the message.
The information was transferred to the Rosselkhoznadzor regional department and the environmental prosecutor’s office. The owners of the sites where the pestilence of animals and birds occurred were ordered to compensate the damage caused.
