The proposal to increase the resort fee to 200 rubles per day was put forward by Kislovodsk Mayor Evgeny Moiseev on May 27 in an interview with AiF-SK.
Moiseev is convinced that increasing the fee to 200 rubles is the optimal solution for the development of Kislovodsk’s tourist infrastructure.
He first expressed this proposal in October 2023 and, according to the results of a survey, received the support of more than half of the residents and tourists of the resorts of the city of Kavminvod.
In his words, the increase in the tariff will create comfortable conditions not only for local residents, but will also attract new tourists who see improvements in the improvement of the city, financed, among other things, by the tourists themselves.
The mayor also emphasized that resort fee funds are used exclusively for infrastructure development and not for administrative expenses.
He stressed that the fee should be paid by each vacationer individually and not by sanatoriums based on their occupancy, since this encourages local authorities to improve conditions to attract more tourists.
