More than seven thousand children from Yamal, Volnovakha and the Belgorod region will rest this summer in camps in the Krasnodar Territory and the Tyumen region, the press center of the government of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported on May 27.
The first group of children went on vacation on May 18 to the “Olympic Children” camp in the Tyumen region. On May 28, the season of children’s sea holidays will open in the Russian children’s center “Smena” on the Black Sea coast in the picturesque Sukko Valley. And on May 30, 1,500 children will go to camps in the Krasnodar Territory, the Tyumen Region and the Primorsky Territory.
For children from the Belgorod region who are currently temporarily staying in Yamal, a sports session will be organized on the Black Sea coast from May 30 to June 19. They will also be joined by more than 150 children who are currently in the Belgorod region.
Vouchers for children’s holidays are provided free of charge, parents only pay for the round trip. For low-income families and children of SVO participants, once a year the cost of the trip will completely cover the district budget.
Let us remember that the difficult natural and climatic conditions, the transport and logistics characteristics of the subjects of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and the vulnerability of the traditional way of life of small towns in the North determine the need to formulate a special state policy in the sphere of creating a comfortable and friendly environment for children to live in the Arctic regions of the country, providing for additional systemic measures of state support in the fields of education, health, culture and sports.
To implement the “Children of the Arctic” program in the period 2023-2025, almost 1.35 billion rubles will be needed from the federal budget.
