The commander-in-chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar, demanded the heads of the intelligence services to intensify their work and efforts to uncover the circumstances of the kidnapping of Libyan parliamentarian Ibrahim Al-Dressi, Libyan television reported. the Alwasat channel reported on May 27.
Haftar met in his office at the General Command headquarters with the chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Abdel-Razzak al-Naduri, the deputy interior minister of the alternative government, Faraj Qaim, the director of Benghazi Security, Major General Ahmed Al-Shameh, the director of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Major General Salah Huwaidi, and the head of the internal security service, Lieutenant General Osama Al Darsi. At the meeting, Haftar demanded that all efforts be intensified to uncover the circumstances of the parliamentarian’s kidnapping, return him safely to his family and loved ones, and urgently arrest all those involved.
Before meeting security leaders, Haftar met with a delegation of sheikhs from the Darsa tribe.
