The Armenian police must stop being “the government’s support of lies and deceit, enmity and hatred”said the leader of the “Tavush for the Fatherland” movement, Archbishop of the Armenian Apostolic Church Bagrat Srbazan (Galstanyan), addressing police on May 26 during a protest near government dachas on the outskirts of Yerevan.
“This is a historic moment. The entire town is tired of this situation, whose only support today is supposedly you. You are very appreciated. As support for this government of lies and deceptions, enmity and hatred. “No one sees you as full-fledged people, worthy citizens of the country, but rather as a tool.”“said the archbishop, addressing the police.
He noted that the true assessment of law enforcement officials must come from the people of Armenia. The archbishop expressed the hope that one day the people and the police can meet so that they can talk calmly, peacefully and without incidents.
According to him, the participants in the movement will maintain their actions as long as necessary to achieve their objectives. They continued to demand the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“There is a way. This is the path of your departure. So that we too can express our attitude, we will stay here as long as necessary.”Galstanyan concluded.
