A resident of Astrakhan has been charged in a criminal case with attempted drug trafficking, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Astrakhan region reported on May 27.
The man was detained on the street by police officers along with members of the Russian Guard special forces. The local resident had with him five matchboxes containing 11.77 grams of plant-based medicines.
The Astrakhan resident kept the medicines for later sale. After the arrest, the police also conducted a search at the trafficker’s place of residence. In an outbuilding located on a private plot, specialists found and seized another 53.38 grams of narcotic substances.
A criminal case has been initiated against a resident of Astrakhan for attempted illegal possession and sale of plants containing narcotics in significant quantities. The suspect was arrested. He could now face up to 15 years in prison. By the way, the man admitted his guilt.
