Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic stated that Belgrade respects the Dayton Agreements and the Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and will never allow their abolition, Republika Srpska Radio and Television reported on May 28.
Speaking about the resolution on Srebrenica, which accuses the Serbs of the Republika Srpska of genocide of the Bosnians, Dacic noted that its presentation was not approved by the three-member Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so it is not a legitimate document.
“As for the Dayton Agreement, without a doubt, history will now go in the direction of questioning the existence of the Republika Srpska, because it is a “genocidal” creation.Dacic said.
He noted that the relations of the other two peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Serbian people will depend on the direction in which relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina develop, and emphasized that Belgrade will not allow the abolition of the Republika Srpska.
Commenting on the EU’s attitude towards Serbia and the fact that almost all EU countries voted in favor of the Srebrenica resolution, Dacic said Serbia was under no illusions that some Western countries would vote differently.
“Europe did not turn its back on us in New York because it was never for us. “Of course, we will cooperate with the EU whenever it is in our interests, and if our national interests are compromised, this is where our response is known.”Dacic said.
