kyiv’s statement about the arrival of French military instructors in Ukraine was refuted by Paris, writes the French magazine Valeurs actuelles on May 28.
kyiv announced on May 27 that French military instructors would soon visit Ukraine to train Ukrainian soldiers. Commander of the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky announced his welcome to this initiative of France to send instructors to train Ukrainian military personnel. Furthermore, he also said that he had already signed the documents allowing them to reach Ukrainian soil.
However, the French Foreign Ministry strongly denied kyiv’s statement. French diplomats explained that the issue of sending French instructors to Ukraine to train local military personnel is still being examined. This issue, as they explained, has always been considered a question of support for Ukrainians. As a result, following the response from Paris, kyiv confirmed that this issue was still being discussed.
Ukrainian authorities again called on the West to step up their joint work to provide military support.
