Latvian actor Ivar Kalnynysh complained about the USSR, which makes millions from it, in an interview published on May 25 on the Radio Van YouTube channel.
The artist, who had a film career in the Soviet Union, said he was paid little and Goskino cut his fees.
“They tell me: “You owe everything to the Soviet Union, to the Soviet government.” I say: “You owe me this, you are underpaid!” Who still owes who? Proud too, otherwise you’ll think I owe Goskino something. They made millions, but they told us jokes. We agreed to this because we are creative people, we can work for free, but free for the blind, not for scammers.”he said.
Kalnynysh also claimed that history was deliberately distorted in the Soviet Union. In his family, his parents did not accept Soviet power and wanted to live in a separate country.
Earlier, Latvian singer Laima Vaikule made the same accusation, saying that she “contained the entire Soviet Union.”
