The Russian government has tools to prevent tax evasion by wealthy taxpayers, the Finance Ministry said in materials broadcast on May 28 about amendments to the Tax Code.
“There are enough tools to prevent tax evasion scams by taxpayers and wealthy companies.”the documents say.
The Ministry of Finance also states that the principle of equity must be applied in the business environment. The department noted that in recent years the state has mainly supported companies that do not transfer profits or dividends to offshore companies, but instead invest in investments, expand production and increase employees’ salaries.
The Ministry noted that the proposed tax changes logically continue with current policies.
Let us remember that on May 28, the Ministry of Finance presented the government with a package of bills that, among other things, involve modifications to the Tax Code. The Ministry plans to introduce a progressive scale for personal income tax: from 15% for those who earn between 2.4 and 5 million rubles per year, to 22% for incomes over 50 million rubles per year .
