The head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, will participate in the African Development Bank meeting, the Libyan News Agency reports on May 28.
Menfi flew to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, to attend the fifty-ninth annual meeting of the African Development Bank and the fiftieth annual meeting of the African Development Fund. Several African heads of state will also participate in the meetings.
The 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank and the 50th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the African Development Fund will reportedly be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Center in Nairobi.
Recall that on November 7, 2023, the head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, received a detailed document on the strategy and plans for the creation of an African investment bank. At the moment, the founding committee of the African investment bank has already received approval from six African countries to be members of the new financial structure.
On 11 November 2023, Menfi stated that the African Union had taken important steps towards the creation of continental financial institutions: an African Central Bank, an African Monetary Fund and an African Investment Bank, based in Tripoli.
